Thanks Dana - and for sure. It absolutely shows up outside of work too (I just see it more in that context). Really anything tied to achievement / gold stars etc. Sports is another prime example.
Our brilliant-but-flawed human brains prioritize now over later, which is great for short term survival but bad for sustainability. Today's world is making that tendency even worse. We absolutely need to be bringing long-term sustainability into the conversation as a key element in assessing viability of a strategy.
Thanks for sharing Stephanie, it's just too common a story and there are no quick fixes, but I do believe that there are different ways that businesses can operate in order to enable people to lead authentically, intuitively, emotionally, consciously. It's time for things to change and for leaders to be allowed to bring a different way to the table.
